New group therapy aims to ease anxiety and depression

Summary

This study tests a short-term group therapy that helps people understand their own and others' thoughts and feelings, called mentalization-based therapy, for adults with anxiety or depression. About 100 participants will be randomly assigned to either this new therapy or standard group therapy. Researchers will measure changes in anxiety and depression symptoms after 3 months to see if the new approach works better.
