Summary
This study tested whether a new, brief therapy program could help Veterans manage anxiety symptoms better than the usual care they receive. The program, called Veterans Anxiety Skills Training (VAST), offered up to six short counseling sessions focused on practical coping skills. Researchers compared anxiety levels and daily functioning in 177 Veterans who received either this new program or standard care over several months.
