New shot could help smokers stay quit for good

Summary
This study is testing whether an investigational medication called brenipatide can help adults who have recently quit smoking avoid relapsing back to cigarettes. About 222 participants will receive either brenipatide or a placebo (inactive substance) via self-injection for 24 weeks, with researchers tracking who successfully stays smoke-free. The goal is to see if this medication can provide extra support to maintain a smoke-free life after quitting.
