Breathing workouts and beetroot juice may boost altitude endurance
NCT ID NCT07216755
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looks at whether strengthening your breathing muscles and taking nitrate supplements (like those found in beets) can help healthy adults exercise longer in low-oxygen conditions similar to high altitude. Researchers will measure how long participants can cycle before getting tired, before and after 4-6 weeks of training. The goal is to find simple, non-drug ways to improve performance in challenging environments.
