Breathing training may ease postpartum bladder leaks

NCT ID NCT06623617

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding breathing training to standard pelvic floor therapy helps new moms with stress urinary incontinence (leaking urine when coughing, sneezing, or exercising). About 58 women who are 6 weeks to 6 months postpartum will either get standard care or standard care plus 20-minute breathing sessions three times a week for 6 weeks. The goal is to see if breathing training reduces leakage and improves pelvic muscle strength.
