Could controlled Low-Oxygen breathing protect the aging brain from diabetes?

NCT ID NCT07173543

Summary

This study is testing whether a special breathing training program can improve blood flow to the brain and thinking skills in older adults with type 2 diabetes. Researchers will compare 80 participants, half with diabetes and half without, to see if repeated, brief sessions of low-oxygen air (intermittent hypoxia) can help. The goal is to find a non-drug therapy to support brain health and potentially slow cognitive decline linked to diabetes and aging.
