Can home breathing exercises help ALS patients breathe easier?

NCT ID NCT04224961

Summary

This study tested whether a moderate-intensity breathing exercise program is safe and tolerable for people with ALS. Nine participants used a portable device at home to perform breathing exercises for 12 weeks, with most check-ins done via video calls. The main goal was to see if the exercises could help maintain or improve the strength of their breathing muscles.
