New breathing method tested to prevent chronic lung disease in preemies

Summary

This study compares two types of breathing support (high-frequency oscillation vs. conventional ventilation) in very premature infants with acute respiratory distress syndrome. The goal is to see which method better reduces the risk of chronic lung disease (bronchopulmonary dysplasia). About 400 babies born between 24 and 31 weeks will take part.
