Global trial seeks better first breaths for tiniest babies

NCT ID NCT04372953

Summary

This international study is testing two different approaches to help very premature babies breathe in their first minutes of life. Doctors are comparing a standard, steady pressure method with a new approach that starts with higher pressure and adjusts it. The goal is to see which method better helps babies' underdeveloped lungs open and stay open, reducing the need for long-term breathing support and lowering the risk of chronic lung disease.
