New tool aims to ease tough choices for families of critically ill patients

This study tested a new online tool called TRACH-Support, designed to help families and medical teams make difficult decisions about long-term breathing support for patients who cannot breathe on their own. Over 100 family members and healthcare providers reviewed the tool and shared their feedback through surveys and interviews. The goal was to see if the tool was easy to use, helpful, and could reduce the stress and uncertainty families feel when making these critical care decisions.
