New strategy aims to prevent breathing failure after hernia repair

Summary

This study looks at whether using simple breathing measurements during surgery can help doctors decide the best way to close the belly wall after repairing a large hernia. The goal is to reduce serious breathing problems in the first 3 days after surgery. About 50 adults who already received muscle-relaxing injections before surgery will take part.
