First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether doing breathing muscle exercises at home for at least two weeks before breast cancer surgery can prevent the respiratory weakness that often happens after surgery. Forty newly diagnosed adults will either do breathing training or guided imagery exercises. Researchers will measure breathing strength, diaphragm thickness, and chest expansion before and after the training and again after surgery.
