Could simple breathing exercises before surgery prevent dangerous complications?

NCT ID NCT04067830

Summary

This study is testing whether a special breathing exercise program before lung cancer surgery can help prevent serious lung problems like pneumonia after the operation. It involves 220 patients with early to mid-stage lung cancer. Half will do breathing muscle training with a device for a few weeks before surgery, while the other half receives standard care, to see which group has fewer complications and a better recovery.
