Can a simple breathing trick speed up recovery after knee surgery?
NCT ID NCT07464860
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple breathing exercise called 'Box Breathing' can help older adults recover better from knee replacement surgery. Researchers will see if this easy, at-home technique can reduce the body's stress response after surgery, which may lead to less pain, anxiety, and depression. The study will enroll 32 adults aged 65 and older to see if the breathing exercise is practical and helpful when added to their usual post-surgery care.
