Summary

This study tested whether adding a specific breathing exercise, called the 4-7-8 technique, to standard medical care could help people with COPD. It involved 40 adults with mild to moderate COPD. Researchers compared the effects of the breathing exercise plus standard care against standard care alone on shortness of breath, lung function, and overall quality of life.
