Summary
This study tested if removing a patient's breathing tube using a specific 'positive pressure' technique could help prevent low oxygen levels after major abdominal surgery. Researchers compared this new method to the standard way of removing the tube in 208 adult patients. The goal was to see if the recommended technique could reduce breathing problems as patients wake up from anesthesia.
