Can breastfeeding support shape health for sickle cell kids?

NCT ID NCT05377372

Summary

This study aims to understand if providing community-based breastfeeding support to mothers of infants with sickle cell disease can improve health outcomes. Researchers will compare 20 mother-infant pairs, with some receiving support and others being observed. They will track how well the support is accepted and if it leads to longer breastfeeding, potentially affecting the child's inflammation, asthma, and pain episodes.
