A pillow to boost breastfeeding confidence after C-Section?
NCT ID NCT05948150
First seen Jul 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 28, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether using a specially designed breastfeeding pillow can improve breastfeeding self-efficacy and postnatal comfort in first-time mothers who gave birth by cesarean section. Half of the participants use the pillow starting 8 hours after birth, while the other half breastfeeds as usual without it. Researchers then compare how confident and comfortable the mothers feel at 24 and 48 hours after delivery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- a breastfeeding pillow
- What this could lead to
- If effective, a simple breastfeeding pillow could become a low-cost tool to boost breastfeeding confidence and comfort for new mothers after C-section.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all mothers. The pillow may offer no real benefit over standard care.
