Could cinnamon capsules make childbirth easier? honduran trial investigates

NCT ID NCT06164613

Summary

This study is testing whether a concentrated cinnamon extract can help safely start labor and reduce the time spent in active labor for first-time mothers. Researchers in Honduras will give 70 healthy, first-time pregnant women either cinnamon capsules or a placebo oil capsule to see if it affects when labor begins and how long delivery takes. The goal is to scientifically test a traditional remedy that some people use to try to ease childbirth.
