Breast reconstruction trial tests whether special mesh reduces complications
NCT ID NCT05316324
Summary
This study compares two approaches to breast reconstruction after mastectomy for breast cancer. Researchers want to see if using a special surgical mesh called Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM) leads to fewer complications than reconstruction without it. The trial involves 353 women and focuses on problems like infections, implant removal, and need for additional surgery in the first 90 days after reconstruction.
