Breast Milk's secret power against viruses under the microscope

NCT ID NCT06738563

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how breast milk changes the ability of certain viruses (like HTLV-1, Zika, and dengue) to infect cells. Researchers will mix milk samples from 75 healthy donors with these viruses in a lab to see if the milk blocks or helps the infection. The goal is to understand which parts of breast milk might protect or increase the risk of passing viruses to babies.
