Could some older breast cancer patients skip the hormone pills?

NCT ID NCT06897488

Summary

This study is testing whether older women with early-stage, low-risk breast cancer can safely skip hormone therapy (endocrine therapy) after surgery and radiation. It aims to see if radiation alone can effectively control the cancer while improving quality of life by avoiding the side effects of hormone pills. The trial will follow 300 women aged 60 and older for several years to track cancer recurrence and patient well-being.
