Could a common breast cancer surgery be unnecessary for some?

NCT ID NCT07498400

Summary

This study is testing whether some patients with triple-negative or HER2-positive breast cancer can safely skip a lymph node biopsy after successful chemotherapy. Researchers want to see if omitting this surgery reduces complications like arm swelling and pain without increasing the risk of cancer returning in the armpit. The goal is to improve patients' quality of life by making treatment less invasive when possible.
