New hope for advanced breast cancer: major trial tests drug combo to keep cancer in check
NCT ID NCT04650581
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a new drug called ipatasertib to standard fulvestrant therapy can better control advanced breast cancer that has started growing again after initial treatment. It involves about 250 postmenopausal women whose cancer is hormone-sensitive and HER-2 negative. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the real drug combination or fulvestrant with a placebo pill to compare effectiveness and side effects.
