New hope for tough breast cancers: radiation boost before surgery

NCT ID NCT06596018

Summary

This trial is for people with breast cancer whose tumors have not shrunk after two rounds of standard chemotherapy before surgery. It tests if adding a short, targeted course of radiation (SBRT) to the continuing chemotherapy can better eliminate the cancer and allow for breast-conserving surgery. Researchers will compare the outcomes and safety of the combined approach against continuing chemotherapy alone.
