New hope for aggressive breast cancer: drug combo trial shows promise
NCT ID NCT04603183
Summary
This study compared two treatment approaches for people with advanced, aggressive breast cancer that has spread and cannot be removed by surgery. One group received a newer targeted pill (abemaciclib) plus standard hormone therapy. The other group started with a short course of chemotherapy (paclitaxel) before switching to the same pill and hormone therapy. The main goal was to see which approach led to better tumor shrinkage within the first 12 weeks.
