Can 3 months of pills before surgery help older women avoid unnecessary radiation?

NCT ID NCT06507618

Summary

This study is testing whether taking hormone therapy pills for 3 months before breast cancer surgery helps women aged 65+ with early-stage, hormone-sensitive breast cancer make better decisions about radiation treatment. Participants are randomly assigned to either take the pills before surgery or proceed directly to standard surgery. The goal is to see if this approach helps match treatment to what each woman can tolerate, potentially avoiding unnecessary radiation or ensuring adequate treatment.
