Can seniors skip breast cancer meds? new trial seeks answers

NCT ID NCT04921137

Summary

This study is testing whether women aged 70 and older with a specific, lower-risk type of early-stage breast cancer can safely skip hormone-blocking pills after their initial surgery and radiation. The goal is to see if avoiding these medications, which can have significant side effects, does not increase the risk of the cancer coming back. Researchers will compare the health and quality of life of participants who take the standard hormone therapy to those who do not.
