First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests a technique called systematic shaving, where surgeons remove a thin layer of extra tissue around the tumor during breast-conserving surgery. The goal is to see if this lowers the chance that cancer cells are left behind, reducing the need for a second operation. About 234 women having breast-conserving surgery will take part.
