New surgical tool aims to reduce tissue removal in breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT05825482

Summary

This study compares two surgical approaches for removing early-stage breast cancer while preserving healthy breast tissue. Researchers are testing whether using a special localization device called Savi Scout® can help surgeons remove less healthy tissue during surgery without leaving cancer behind. The study will measure how often cancer cells are found at the edge of removed tissue, how much tissue is taken, and patient satisfaction with their breast appearance after surgery.
