Summary
This study aimed to find out if women over 50 with very small breast cancers could safely skip the routine removal of underarm lymph nodes during their initial surgery. Researchers compared the survival rates of women who had the lymph nodes removed versus those who did not. The goal was to see if avoiding this procedure could reduce side effects like arm swelling without harming long-term outcomes.
