Needle test could spare breast cancer patients from surgery

NCT ID NCT02455791

Summary

This study is testing if a needle biopsy can accurately tell when breast cancer has been completely eliminated by chemotherapy. If the biopsy shows no cancer, it might mean some patients could safely avoid surgery. Researchers are comparing the biopsy results to what is found during the standard surgery to see how well they match.
