Tiny seeds target breast cancer in new radiation approach

NCT ID NCT02297672

Summary

This study is refining a radiation technique for early-stage breast cancer where tiny, permanent radioactive seeds are implanted directly into the breast tissue. It follows 75 women for five years to improve the procedure, measure side effects, and compare costs to other radiation methods. The goal is to better control cancer recurrence while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
