Major trial asks: is radiation necessary for intermediate-risk breast cancer?

NCT ID NCT07385365

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether women with intermediate-risk breast cancer can avoid radiation therapy to the lymph nodes after surgery without harming their chances of staying cancer-free. About 3,100 women will be randomly assigned to receive radiation or not, and researchers will track tumor recurrence, survival, and side effects over time. The goal is to see if skipping radiation is just as safe and effective.
