Mind games for safer radiation: can a mental trick protect cancer Patients' hearts?
NCT ID NCT06100068
Summary
This study tested if a simple mental exercise could help people hold their breath longer during breast cancer radiation treatment. Longer breath-holds help move the heart away from radiation, potentially reducing heart damage. Healthy volunteers tried holding their breath using a standard method and a method where they performed a mental task on a tablet, to see which was more comfortable and effective.
