Summary
This study looked at 729 breast cancer patients who had surgery followed by radiation therapy. Researchers checked their thyroid function before and after radiation to see how many developed an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). The goal was to find out which patients are most at risk and how radiation dose to the thyroid plays a role.
