One-Week radiation challenge: can it match standard care for breast cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT04228991
Summary
This study is testing whether a shorter, 1-week radiation treatment is as effective as the standard 3-week treatment for breast cancer patients who need radiation after surgery. The main goal is to see if the shorter treatment causes less arm swelling (lymphedema) while still controlling the cancer. Researchers will follow 588 patients across Canada to compare side effects, cancer recurrence, and quality of life between the two approaches.
