Faster, stronger radiation tested to shrink breast tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT03624478
Summary
This study tested a new approach for early-stage breast cancer. It gave patients a shorter, more intense course of radiation to the whole breast *before* their surgery, instead of the usual longer course given after. The goal was to see if this method could completely eliminate the cancer in the surgical specimen and reduce side effects. The trial enrolled 25 patients to measure how well the cancer responded and to monitor safety.
