Radiation 'Boost' before surgery aims to wake up immune system against breast cancer

NCT ID NCT03359954

Summary

This study is testing if giving a short, focused dose of radiation right before breast cancer surgery can help the patient's own immune system fight the tumor. It involves 25 patients with a common type of hormone-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. The main goal is to see if this 'boost' of radiation increases immune cells inside the tumor, which might help control the disease.
