New scan could predict breast cancer treatment success before surgery

NCT ID NCT06086704

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special PET/MRI scan can predict how breast cancer will respond to hormone therapy given before surgery. About 53 postmenopausal women with newly diagnosed, hormone-sensitive breast cancer will receive the scan before and after starting therapy. The goal is to see if changes in the scan match changes in tumor activity, helping doctors decide sooner whether the treatment is working.
