Mini tumor models could guide surgeons to cancer cells
NCT ID NCT07421479
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study takes tumor tissue from 50 women with invasive breast cancer and grows mini 3D versions called organoids in the lab. These organoids are used to collect tiny particles called extracellular vesicles, which naturally seek out tumor cells. The goal is to use these particles to deliver dyes or drugs directly to cancer, potentially making surgery more precise. This is a research study to develop the method, not a treatment for participants.
