First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study is testing whether using MRI scans before surgery can identify women with early breast cancer who have a very low risk of the cancer returning, allowing them to skip post-operative radiotherapy. About 1,400 women aged 50 and older with certain types of breast cancer will be enrolled. The goal is to see if avoiding radiotherapy is safe while reducing side effects and treatment burden.
