Glowing probe could help surgeons spot leftover breast cancer during surgery

Summary
This study tested a new imaging probe (TTP-ICG) that makes cancer cells glow under a special camera. After breast cancer surgery, the probe was applied to removed tissue to see if any cancer was left at the edges (margins) and if nearby lymph nodes had cancer. The goal is to help surgeons remove all cancer the first time and avoid extra surgeries. The study involved 59 women with breast cancer.
