Could this breast cancer study reduce unnecessary surgery?

NCT ID NCT04998682

Summary

This study tested whether doctors could accurately check if breast cancer has spread by removing and examining just a few key lymph nodes instead of many. Researchers worked with 20 patients who had advanced breast cancer that had reached their lymph nodes. They wanted to see if this targeted approach could provide the same information while potentially reducing the need for more extensive surgery.
