New scan could replace invasive biopsies for cancer treatment decisions

NCT ID NCT05742269

Summary

This study aimed to test a new type of whole-body scan to see if it could better predict which patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer would benefit from a specific immunotherapy. The scan uses a radioactive tracer to find a protein target in tumors, potentially offering a clearer picture than a standard tissue biopsy. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 3 participants.
