Four scans, one goal: pinpointing breast Cancer's reach

NCT ID NCT00367666

Summary

This study aims to compare four advanced imaging techniques—MRI, digital mammography, ultrasound, and PET scans—to see which combination best maps out the extent of breast cancer before surgery. It involves 400 women recently diagnosed with breast cancer who are scheduled for surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. The goal is to improve the accuracy of pre-surgical staging, which helps doctors plan the most effective treatment.
