New PET scan may better predict breast cancer treatment success
NCT ID NCT07553741
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a newer type of PET scan (68Ga-FAPI) can better predict how well breast cancer responds to chemotherapy before surgery, compared to standard PET and MRI scans. Twenty-seven women with breast cancer had all three scans before and after chemotherapy. The results were checked against the actual tumor response after surgery. The goal is to find a more accurate way to guide treatment decisions.
