Lost to Follow-Up: can a simple phone call bring breast cancer survivors back?
NCT ID NCT06927102
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at 1500 women treated for breast cancer in India between 2017 and 2018 to see how many stopped coming to follow-up visits. Researchers will call or message those who are 'lost to follow-up' to ask about their health and find out why they stopped. The goal is to learn if proactive outreach can improve follow-up rates and understand the barriers patients face.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that simple phone calls or messages help bring breast cancer survivors back to follow-up care, improving long-term monitoring.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It cannot prove that outreach improves health outcomes, only that it may increase follow-up rates.
