Breast cancer survivors may need fewer hospital trips, study says

NCT ID NCT07616258

First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether women who finished treatment for early-stage breast cancer can safely have fewer hospital check-ups. Currently, patients visit the clinic every 6 to 12 months for five years. The study will compare the usual schedule with a plan that stops clinic visits after two years but keeps yearly mammograms. About 560 women will take part, and researchers will track quality of life and cancer recurrence to see if less frequent visits are just as safe and less stressful.
