New drug combo tested to shrink tumors before breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT04425018

Summary

This study compares two different drug combinations given before surgery to shrink tumors in people with stage II-III HER2-positive breast cancer. About 174 participants were randomly assigned to receive either a newer drug combination (margetuximab) or the standard combination (trastuzumab), both given with two other drugs. The main goal is to see which combination leads to more patients having no detectable cancer left at surgery.
